Privacy Policy
A LEGAL DISCLAIMER
Aknia, Inc. and its affiliates (“Aknia,” “we,” “us” or “our”) are committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information collected from investors, prospective investors and visitors to our website. This Privacy Policy, effective April 24, 2025, applies to all personal data we process in connection with our investment management services, including data collected via www.akniaim.com, subscription agreements, onboarding procedures and routine communications.
We collect personal information necessary to assess investor suitability and deliver our services, including identity and contact details (such as name, date of birth, government-issued identifiers, address, email and telephone number), financial and professional information (investment history, accreditation status, bank account details and tax residency), compliance data (source-of-fund documentation, AML/KYC screening reports and background checks), and technical and usage data (IP address, device identifiers, cookies and browsing activity).
The personal data we gather is used to onboard and administer investment accounts, process subscriptions and redemptions, produce performance reports and regulatory disclosures, communicate with investors, fulfil AML/KYC, FATCA and other legal obligations, conduct risk assessments and fraud prevention, and improve our website’s functionality and user experience.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on contractual necessity to perform our services, on our legitimate interests for business-critical operations (including risk management and network security), on compliance with legal obligations under U.S. and Indonesian securities and data-protection laws, and on your explicit consent for activities such as marketing communications and non-essential cookies.
We may share personal data with service providers (including fund administrators, custodians, auditors, legal and tax advisors, and technology platforms), regulators and tax authorities as required by law, other Aknia affiliates for consolidated reporting, and prospective purchasers of our business in a transaction. We do not sell personal data to unaffiliated third parties.
Because our operations span multiple jurisdictions, your data may be transferred to and stored in the United States, Indonesia or other jurisdictions. We safeguard international transfers by implementing appropriate legal mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure continued protection.
Personal information is retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, comply with legal and regulatory requirements and resolve any disputes—typically not exceeding seven years. After that period, data is securely destroyed or anonymized.
To protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction, we employ industry-standard administrative, physical and technical safeguards, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, network firewalls, secure data centers and regular security assessments.
Subject to applicable law, you may exercise rights including access to and correction of your personal data, erasure or restriction of processing, objection to processing on grounds of legitimate interests, portability of data in a structured format, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise these rights, please contact us as described below.
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to provide essential functionality, analyse usage patterns, personalise content and administer preferences. You may manage or disable cookies through your browser settings or via the banner displayed when you first visit our site.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently gathered such data, we will promptly delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or regulatory requirements. When material changes occur, we will revise the “Effective Date” above and, where required, notify you directly.
If you have questions, wish to review or correct your personal information, or exercise any privacy rights, please contact our Privacy & Compliance Officer by email at kevin@akniaim.com or by post at 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, Delaware, United States.
